About the Project
Efrat is proud to be one of the few communities in Judea that is not surrounded by a fence. We choose to build bridges of coexistence instead of fencing ourselves off from our Arab neighbors. As a result, our security depends on a "virtual fence" - a complex system of day and night vision cameras that are connected to our command and control system. The cameras monitor the safety of the roughly 16,000 men, women, children, workers, and visitors who live in the area or pass through Efrat each day. As part of the technological upgrade, the Security Department is seeking to replace 8 of the existing cameras with thermal-sensitive cameras that will provide clarity in all conditions, even during dense fog. These cameras will help keep the people of Efrat safe, even in adverse weather conditions.
